One of the longest and most famous right-hand point waves in the world, formed when a 2001 sand-pumping project connected Snapper Rocks to Rainbow Bay, Greenmount, Kirra and beyond into the 'Superbank', capable of producing rides of over a kilometre when fully linked up. Snapper Rocks itself was long a Quiksilver and Roxy Pro (now Boost Mobile Gold Coast Pro) venue on the WSL Championship Tour. Works for intermediate-to-advanced surfers; best on E-SE swells with light SW offshore winds, most consistent March-May and September-November.
