One of the most iconic urban beaches in the world, a curving stretch of sand a few kilometres from central Sydney with consistent beach-break peaks best for intermediate surfers and up, plus the famous Bondi to Bronte coastal walk and Icebergs pool. It has been Sydney's premier surfing and swimming beach since surf lifesaving began there in the early 1900s, and remains a cultural landmark far beyond surfing. Best surfed in the Southern Hemisphere winter (June-August) on south swells with north-northwest offshore winds.
