Ballito is a warm-water beach town on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast, and Willard Beach hosts the WSL Challenger Series event each July. Shifting sandbanks give punchy, peaky beach-break waves that pick up Indian Ocean swell year-round. It suits intermediate surfers on most days, and the water stays warm even in winter. Best in the morning with light westerly offshore winds.
