A world-class cobblestone point break producing long, rippable rights and lefts, Lower Trestles has been a fixture on the pro tour since the early 1980s and served as the WSL Finals venue from 2021-2024, plus is confirmed as the surfing venue for the 2028 LA Olympics. The wave is highly consistent and works on a wide range of swells, making it a benchmark for high-performance surfing. Intermediate to advanced surfers will get the most out of it, with a scenic (car-free) walk-in through San Onofre State Beach. Best in fall through winter W/NW-SW swells with light NE offshore wind.
