Maresias is the best-known surf beach on São Paulo's north coast and has produced several of Brazil's world champions. A long, steep beach break backed by Atlantic rainforest, it delivers fast, hollow peaks on south and southeast swells. Host of the WSL Challenger Series stop at São Sebastião, it is best for intermediate to advanced surfers. Mornings with light northerly winds are cleanest.
