One of Europe's heaviest and most famous beachbreaks, formed by a deep underwater canyon just off Hossegor's sand that throws up thick, hollow, world-class barrels. For years it was the marquee venue for the WSL's Quiksilver and Roxy Pro France Championship Tour events, cementing its reputation among professional surfers worldwide. Strictly advanced-to-expert due to its shifting, powerful shore-pound. Best in early autumn with clean W/NW groundswells and light easterly offshore winds.
