The sandy bay that curves from Peniche to the little island of Baleal, a few minutes north of Supertubos. Baleal island and the Peniche peninsula shelter the bay from the biggest north-west swells, so it serves up gentle, rolling waves when the open coast is too big — the reason it's the base for most of Peniche's surf schools and camps. Works all year, best with light southerly winds.
